The congregation which worships at Ponte Sant'Angelo Methodist Church in Rome was officially inaugurated on Advent Sunday 1955. The building itself was originally attached to the church of San Celso next to it but was sold to the Italian Free Church in the 1870s, after Rome became a part of the newly united Italy.
We are a part of the Italian Waldension-Methodist Church and so related to the World Council of Churches through the Federation of Evangelical Churches in Italy. We are also a member of Churches Together in Rome, a fellowship of about a dozen English language congregations in Rome with various Protestant, Anglican and Catholic churches represented.
One of the special things about the congregation is that it is made up of people from many different countries and traditions. The contribution to our life and worship from all these traditions greatly enriches our fellowship together.
Although we are Methodists, you do not have to be a Methodist to join us for worship.
Everyone is welcome, whatever their background.

This Sunday in worship, September 7 at 10:30 a.m., we invite students of all ages to bring their school backpacks to church. As a new school year begins, we want to surround you with prayer and a special blessing. Our English-speaking church family will gather around each student with love and encouragement. Teachers and school staff are warmly welcome too! See you in church!
