The congregation which worships at Ponte Sant'Angelo Methodist Church in Rome was officially inaugurated on Advent Sunday 1955. The building itself was originally attached to the church of San Celso next to it but was sold to the Italian Free Church in the 1870s, after Rome became a part of the newly united Italy.
We are a part of the Italian Waldension-Methodist Church and so related to the World Council of Churches through the Federation of Evangelical Churches in Italy. We are also a member of Churches Together in Rome, a fellowship of about a dozen English language congregations in Rome with various Protestant, Anglican and Catholic churches represented.
One of the special things about the congregation is that it is made up of people from many different countries and traditions. The contribution to our life and worship from all these traditions greatly enriches our fellowship together.
Although we are Methodists, you do not have to be a Methodist to join us for worship.
Everyone is welcome, whatever their background.
Following the Easter Resurrection Service is coffee and tea fellowship time (1st floors) and Easter Egg Hunt for children and teens. We hope to seeing you!
You are invited to our monthly musical evening at Ponte Sant’Angelo Methodist Church! For our May concert, we look forward to welcoming a pianist, Carina Gabrielyan from the class of M° Rocco De Vitto from the Conservatory of Music Santa Cecilia in Rome. We look forward to seeing you, and don’t forget to bring a friend with you! Concert starts at 7:30 PM on Friday, May 9th, followed by a moment of brindisi and fellowship time.
The Epworth League Rome, PSA Young Adult Ministry, brings together interdenominational young adults for Spiritual Formation, Community Building, and Mission. We will gather on Saturday, April 12 from 6-8:30 PM, for a time of worship, fellowship, and dinner together. Then, on Saturday April 26, we’ll attend the Jesus Christ Superstar musical at Teatro Sistina. The show is in English and begins at 8:30 PM. We’ll first meet at the manse for an aperitivo, or possibly a picnic in Villa Borghese, and then walk together to the theater. To help us finalize the number of attendees and secure your ticket, we kindly ask for a €10 participation fee. PSA Young Adult ministry is supported by the "Faith Forward" Project grant through the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church. For more information:
